Then . . .
In 1974, Greg and
Carol Fleck built their home on Partridge Road in the Town of Barre. The following year, a four stall barn was constructed. This was to house
Carol's first horse, eleven-year companion and best friend, Iowa Dawn, along with a couple of boarders. Not long after the barn was constructed,
Greg and Carol bought
their first Morgan gelding Melita's Flash.
Their family grew, too, with daughters Hollie and Ashley arriving in 1978 and 1981. Thankfully, they grew to love horses and wanted to learn to ride.
Danville Dimple was chosen as their first horse. They were a perfect match! She taught them so well, that they were able to enjoy several wins and championships on other great Morgans such as J.L.'s Leading Man, Is Putting On The Ritz, Limerick Pepper Don, Partridge Hill Pageant
and Treble's Tanqueray.
In 1987, an addition of
eight stalls, a tack
room and a small in-door
arena were built.
And now . . .
We have been "quietly"
nestled atop our
Partridge Hill for many
years. We use the term
"quietly" loosely, as
those close to us can
affirm, it is anything
but "quietly". We
currently house 25-35
horses, work part-time
jobs. Carol is also a
leader of Partridge Hill Horse Lovers 4-H.
Greg is assistant coach
of the Division 1
Spaulding high school
girls basketball team,
who were Vermont state
Champions this past
year.
We can no longer
remain "quiet" atop our
Partridge Hill.
Greg and Carol are
proud to announce that
on October 1, 2000, we
purchased the beautiful
Junior World Champion
Stallion, Treble's
Tanqueray, (Tug Hill
Commando x Trebles
Margarita). Two weeks
later at the Morgan
Grand National and World
Champion Morgan Horse
Show, "Ray" was named
Reserve Grand National
Stallion and Reserve
World Champion Junior
Stallion.
